TDE Fan Appreciation Week: Next Up, Zacari With "Edamame" & "This Woman's Work"
Yesterday, (April 21) Top Dawg Entertainment continued with some more releases from their artist roster. Zacari is the latest TDE artist to gift fans with new music. The R&B artist has delivered two tracks entitled, “Edamame” and “This Woman’s Work”.
“Edamame”, sounds like a cool pop track and its lyrics about falling in love are so catchy. This single was produced by J-Louis, RNSOM, & Aaron Bow and mixed by Noah Shanklin.
Check out some lyrics from “Edamame” and press play below
“You're so out of my league
I was like, automatically
All the way head over heels for you (Yeah)
For you, for you
Oh, you're so out of my league
I was like, automatically
All the way head over heels for you (Yeah)
But I know it's right, and I know what it's like”
Zacari’s second new single “This Woman’s Work” ft. Che Ecru, is reminiscent of Maxwell’s 1997 single “This Woman's Work” off of Maxwell’s ‘MTV Unplugged Album’. Now here’s a fun fact, Maxwell’s “This Woman’s Work” was a cover of a song bearing the same name by British singer Kate Bush. The original version of “This Woman’s Work” released in 1988 as a pop song recorded for the film She’s Having a Baby.
Zacari’s take on “This Woman’s Work” is unique and intriguing because it creates a modernized version of a song that is known as a classic by many R&B lovers.
