Cardi B Graces the Cover of ELLE Magazine & Talks About More Than “WAP”

The timing of Cardi B’s first cover story for ELLE Magazine is right on time! Since the release of Cardi’s “WAP” ft. Megan Thee Stallion, critics have been in an uproar about the raunchiness of the track. Which further fuels the double standard for women not being able to proudly celebrate their bodies and sexuality without judgment. In comparison to the history of men that are able to freely push the limits and express their sexual desires.  

The ELLE September 2020 Issue features Cardi’s concerns about Breonna Taylor, cancel culture, and politics. Cardi also discusses her aim to make her sophomore album just as creative and great as her debut and if possible better! 

Marjon Carlos and Cardi B’s discourse is well balanced; presenting Cardi as the versatile 27-year-old woman that she is. Cardi is much more than just the lyrics to “WAP”, which her loyal fans already knew! As a woman, Cardi has the right to discuss her #WAP however she pleases without discrediting everything else she stands up for and represents.
